Screen veteran Mary Steenburgen has been tapped for NBC鈥檚 musical pilot Zoey鈥檚 Extraordinary Playlist. She joins a cast that includes the Broadway alums Alex Newell and Skylar Astin, with Jane Levy starring in the title role, a woman who suddenly realizes she can hear other people鈥檚 innermost thoughts as elaborate musical numbers.
The Oscar winner and Broadway alum, according to , will play Zoey鈥檚 mother, Maggie. She is also set to appear in the world premiere of Bess Wohl鈥檚 Grand Horizons this summer at Williamstown Theatre Festival.
Zoey鈥檚 Extraordinary Playlist, billed as 鈥�What Women Want meets La La Land,鈥� is created by Austin Wisnberg, Paul Feig, and Eric and Kim Tannenbaum.
