The new play from Prayer for the French Republic playwright Joshua Harmon opens Off-Broadway March 19 via Manhattan Theatre Club.

Joshua Harmon's We Had a World is headed towards a March 19 opening night Off-Broadway at New York City Center Stage II via Manhattan Theatre Club, and newly released production shots offer a first look at the new production. Take a look in the gallery below.

The extended run continues through April 27.

The cast includes Tony winner Joanna Gleason (Into the Woods) as Renee, Andrew Barth Feldman (Dear Evan Hansen) as Joshua, and Jeanine Serralles as Ellen. Understudies Sam Primack, Courtney Balan, and Glynis Bell round out the company. Casting is by Kelly Gillespie.

The new work follows a dying woman who calls upon her grandson to write a "bitter and vitriolic" (according to press notes) play about their family, ultimately invoking past family fights, cruelty, and love. Tripp Cullman is directing.

The production features scenic design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Ben Stanton, original music and sound design by Sinan Refik Zafar, and wig and make-up design by Tommy Kurzman. Bess Marie Glorioso is production stage manager.
