Casting has been announced for the Ralph Fiennes/Theatre Royal Bath season, which kicks off June 27鈥揓uly 19 with the world premiere of David Hare's Grace Pervades.
Directed by Jeremy Herrin, the cast will be led by Fiennes and Miranda Raison (Spooks, Anne Boleyn, The Winter's Tale) with Sharif Afifi, Tom Kanji, Harriet Leitch, Ashley McGuire, Jordan Metcalfe, Jo Mousley, Damian Myerscough, Guy Paul, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Saskia Strallen, and Kathryn Wilder. Opening night is set for July 3.
Grace Pervades follows Henry Irving and Ellen Terry, stars of the Victorian stage, and Ellen鈥檚 troubled and brilliant children, Edith Craig and Edward Gordon Craig, who made their own contribution to the development of British theatre.
The production will also have set design by Bob Crowley, costume design by Fotini Dimou, lighting design by Peter Mumford, sound design by Elizabeth Purnell, music by composer Paul Englishby, casting by Jessica Ronane, and movement direction by Lucy Cullingford.
Fiennes will subsequently direct William Shakespeare's As You Like It, which will play the U.K. venue August 15-September 6 with an official opening August 21.
Olivier Award winner Dame Harriet Walter will star as Jaques with Gloria Obianyo as Rosalind. Additional casting for the Shakespeare comedy will be announced at a later date.
Completing the creative team are set designer Crowley, costume designer Dimou, lighting designer Mumford, video designer Roland Horvath, sound designer Christopher Shutt, composer Ilan Eshkeri, movement director Fin Walker, and casting director Ginny Schiller.
The season will conclude with Rebecca Lenkiewicz's Small Hotel, which will begin October 3 prior to an official opening October 9 for a limited engagement through October 18.
Directed by Holly Race Roughan, the drama casts Fiennes as Larry, a TV presenter and celebrity whose life is rapidly unraveling. Additional casting will be announced.
The production will also have set design by Crowley, sound design by Max Pappenheim, video design by Luke Halls, costume design by Loren Elstein, movement direction by Sarah Fahie, and casting by Amy Ball.
