Tony season is officially on the horizon! This year's nomination announcement will be hosted by Tony winner Sarah Paulson and Wendell Pierce from Sofitel New York. The event, planned for May 1, will stream live on YouTube beginning at 9 AM ET, with a selection of categories to be revealed on CBS Mornings at 8:30 AM ET. 半岛体育 will be covering live throughout the morning.
Paulson won the 2024 Best Leading Actress in a Play Tony Award for her work in Appropriate, her third Broadway outing following a 2005 revival of The Glass Menagerie and Collected Stories in 2010. Pierce made his Broadway debut in The Boys of Winter in 1985, later appearing in 1988's Serious Money before earning a Tony nomination for his 2022 turn as Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman. Pierce also was a producer of August Wilson's Radio Golf in 2007.
The 78th annual ceremony will broadcast live from Radio City Musical Hall June 8, beginning at 8 PM ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. Wicked film star and Tony winner Cynthia Erivo is set to host the evening.
The Tony Awards are produced in collaboration with Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, and White Cherry Entertainment. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss are executive producers and showrunners for White Cherry Entertainment. Weiss will serve as director.
