New York Pops will honor songwriter Diane Warren during the Pops' 42nd Birthday Gala April 28 at Carnegie Hall. A starry list of performers has been assembled for the evening, each of whom will sing songs from Warren's catalogue.
Set to perform are Shoshana Bean (Hell's Kitchen), Sofia Carson, Taylor Dayne, Ariana DeBose (West Side Story), Micaela Diamond (Parade), Brandon Victor Dixon (Hell's Kitchen), Ang茅lique Kidjo, Hailey Kilgore, Mykal Kilgore, Storm Large, LeAnn Rimes, and The War and Treaty.
A Grammy, Emmy, and Golden Globe winner, Warren's song catalogue includes "If I Could Turn Back Time," "Because You Loved Me," "How Do I Live," "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," and many more. A jukebox biomusical about the songwriter has been in the works for several years, most recently revealed to be the work of book writer Joe DiPietro and director Kathleen Marshall.
The concert, titled Words and Music: Diane Warren, will feature the New York Pops orchestra led by music director and conductor Steven Reineke. Proceeds will benefit the organization and its education program.
