The stage adaptation of the DreamWorks animated feature The Prince of Egypt, featuring a score by Wicked and Pippin composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz, will receive a private London reading this week.
The musical had its world premiere in 2017. The reading reflects revisions to the material, including new songs. The Prince of Egypt has a book by Philip LaZebnik and direction by Scott Schwartz (The Hunchback of Notre Dame).
The 1998 film includes such songs as the Oscar-winning 鈥淲hen You Believe,鈥 鈥淒eliver Us,鈥 鈥淎ll I Ever Wanted,鈥 and 鈥淭hrough Heaven鈥檚 Eyes.鈥
