Rose Theatre in Kingston Upon Thames in Southwest London will join forces with the newly launched Welsh National Theatre to present Thornton Wilder's Our Town February 26–March 28, 2026.

Olivier nominee Michael Sheen (Amadeus, Look Back in Anger, Caligula) will star as the Stage Manager in the upcoming staging, the first production of Sheen’s Welsh National Theatre. Francesca Goodridge (Nye) will direct with screenwriter Russell T Davies as the creative associate.

Additional casting and creative team members will be announced at a later time.

Prior to the Rose Theatre run, Wilder's 1938 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama will play Wales' Swansea Grand Theatre (January 16-31), Cymru in Llandudno (February 3-7), and Theatr Clwyd in Mold (February 11-21).

In a statement Sheen, whose Broadway credits include Frost/Nixon and Amadeus, said, â€Our Town is a play about life, love, and community. That’s what matters to us in Wales; that’s what matters to me. It’s a play that compels us to celebrate the everyday, to hold the ones we cherish. I can’t think of a better play to welcome audiences around Wales and in London to the Welsh National Theatre, along with our co-production partners The Rose Theatre."

Our Town centers on life in Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, between 1901 and 1931. The work has become one of the most beloved in the repertoire, and one of the most frequently produced. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama the year it premiered and has been revived on Broadway in 1944, 1969, 1989, and 2003. The Wilder play was seen on Broadway earlier this season in a production directed by Tony winner Kenny Leon.

Priority booking is now open for Rose Circle, Friends, and 30 & Under members. Tickets will go on sale to the general public April 10.
