Second Stage's production of Amy Berryman鈥檚 Walden begins previews October 16 prior to an official opening November 7 at Off-Broadway Tony Kiser Theater.
The Whitney White-directed production features Emmy Rossum (Shameless, The Phantom of the Opera) and Zo毛 Winters (Success, Heroes of the Fourth Turning), who play two estranged sisters struggling to align, joined by Motell Foster (La Cocina, Clickbait, Othello).
Set in the near future, Walden follows Stella (Rossum) and her fianc茅 Bryan (Foster), who are waiting at their cabin for Stella鈥檚 estranged twin sister, Cassie (Winters). When they reunite, old conflicts reignite, forcing the sisters to choose between staying on Earth or pursuing a future in space.
Walden received its world premiere, presented by Sonia Friedman Productions, in May 2021 at London's Harold Pinter Theatre, followed by its American premiere at TheatreWorks in Hartford, Connecticut, in August 2021.
The Off-Broadway production features scenic design by Matt Saunders, costume design by Qween Jean, lighting design by Adam Honor茅, and sound design by Lee Kinney. Casting is by Taylor Williams.
