The story of a Florida retiree who hires a former Broadway dancer to give her ballroom dancing lessons features ("Glee," ) and Academy Award nominee ("A Woman Under the Influence," ). directs.
Jackson plays Michael Minetti, a New York dance instructor hired by Lily Harrison (Rowlands) for six weeks of dance instruction. A friendship then blossoms between the two very different people.
The cast also features Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver ("Silver Linings Playbook," "The Five-Year Engagement"), Julian Sands ("Leaving Las Vegas," "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"), Tony and Academy Award winner ("West Side Story," ) and Kathleen Rose Perkins ("Gone Girl," "The Skeleton Twins"). The film will be released Dec. 12.
Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks played a brief, 56-performance Broadway run in fall 2003. The New York cast featured stage and screen veteran and of "Star Wars" fame.
