鈥淪he has the softest hands in the world,鈥 said actor Timoth茅e Chalamet of Oprah Winfrey, whom he met backstage before stepping on camera for Jimmy Kimmel Live February 22. 鈥淪he said my name in the voice back there!鈥
Chalamet is currently the youngest actor to be nominated for an Oscar for a leading role, thanks to his performance in Call Me By Your Name. The young talent also appeared in this year鈥檚 acclaimed Lady Bird.
Host Kimmel asked Chalamet if he was worried about coming out of the gate so strong. 鈥淥f course, I'm worried. But, really, I get to be here with you right now,鈥 said Chalamet. 鈥淭his feels so not given. I was in two independent movies; the fact that we're getting highlighted on these mainstream television shows鈥攖hank you for highlighting these movies.鈥
Prior to his movie stardom, Chalamet got his start onstage. He won a Lucille Lortel Award and earned a Drama League nomination for his work in Manhattan Theatre Club鈥檚 production of John Patrick Shanley鈥檚 Prodigal Son. It was also a role that earned him a Clive Barnes nomination, which recognizes up-and-coming talent in New York theatre and dance.
