The Mercury Theatre opened as the Comedy Theatre in 1909 under the Shuberts鈥� management. This venue housed Eugene O鈥橬eill鈥檚 first Broadway production, the one-act play In the Zone. It was demolished, as the Artef Theatre, in 1942.
