Tony nominee Hailey Kilgore April 24 to share a health update with her fans following her sudden departure from Broadway's Hadestown earlier this month at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

Kilgore, who joined the Hadestown company in January, withdrew from the long-running production earlier this month due to unspecified health concerns. Kilgore elaborated on the situation in the following statement.

"Hi everyone,

"As many of my day-1 supporters know, Broadway has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. It is where I started and it changed the trajectory of my entire life. From the minute Once On This Island closed, I was dying to get back onstage.

"When I was approached to do Hadestown after seven years of living in the TV & film world, without hesitation it was a 1000% yes!

"In full transparency, I had been experiencing some concerning and confusing illness symptoms before my run even started. In the spirit of the theatre I decided 'the show must go on' and that I would try to tough it out (even at times against Dr.'s advice).

"On April 9, I got incredibly sick during the show. While I did tough it out for the night, that was the final straw for my body. I went to urgent care with flu-like symptoms a couple days later and ended up in the hospital. I received Dr.'s orders that I had to end my run of the show immediately while we focus on treatment. I am going to be okay. I just need to follow my treatment plan. Short-term sacrifice for lifelong success..

"Firstly, I want to thank the producers and creative team for this opportunity. A MASSIVE thank you to the beautiful cast and crew who kept me going when I was onstage and off.

"Hadestown really re-ignited my spark as an actress and an all around human being. I will never forget how you all made me feel. I am forever grateful.

"PLEASE give extra love to KC Dela Cruz (superwoman!!! And your new Eurydice!) She is as much of an amazing actress and performer as she is a person.

"'To world we dream about, and the one we live in now'

"Love y'all,

HK"

As noted by Kilgore, since her departure, the role of Eurydice has been played by KC Dela Cruz, who will continue in the role through May 4. Myra Molloy will join the company as Eurydice beginning May 6.

We wish Kilgore a stable healing journey, and hope to welcome her back to Broadway with open arms once she is ready!
