Redford, who co-starred with Streisand in the 1973 Sydney Pollack film "The Way We Were," is being honored by the Film Society of Lincoln Center at the New York City landmark.
Presenters are also scheduled to include J.C. Chandor, (recipient of the 28th Chaplin Award) and . The event includes film clips culminating in the presentation of The Chaplin Award.
The Film Societyβs Annual Gala began in 1972 and honored Charlie Chaplin, who returned to the U.S. from exile to accept the commendation. Since then, the award has been renamed for Chaplin, and has honored many of the film industryβs most notable talents, including Alfred Hitchcock, , , , , , , , , , , , , , Catherine Deneuve and Barbra Streisand.
