At age 22, Timoth茅e Chalamet has earned himself the title of 2017鈥檚 Breakout Star. After small appearances in Christopher Nolan鈥檚 Interstellar as Young Tom Cooper and The Adderall Diaries as teenage Stephen Elliot鈥攁mong others鈥擟halamet now stars in two of the years most buzzed about films: Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name. But Chalamet was making waves in the theatre world even earlier.

A graduate of Laguardia High School for the Performing Arts in New York City, Chalamet made his New York stage debut in 2011 in The Talls. In 2016, he starred Off-Broadway in John Patrick Shanley鈥檚 Prodigal Son, at Manhattan Theatre Club, as a younger version of Shanley at boarding school. The actor earned rave reviews and was named a finalist for the Clive Barnes Award in acting鈥攚hich recognize young performers on the rise鈥攆or his performance. (Past recipients of the Clive Barnes Award have included Nina Arianda, Annaleigh Ashford, and Alex Sharp.) He was also nominated for a Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance and won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play.
