Broadway advertising agency AKA has announced the appointment of Beth Watson as senior vice president, head of theater.
Watson's most recent position was executive vice president and co-head of the New York office at SINE Digital. She served as in-house brand director for Josh Groban and TourDForce Productions, and vice president client services at SpotCo, where she launched her career.
鈥淛oining AKA feels like a return home to the heart of theatrical storytelling,鈥 Watson said in a statement. 鈥淭his team has been setting the standard for strategic creativity in the industry, and I鈥檓 honored to help shape the next chapter of its legacy. I can鈥檛 wait to collaborate with our clients and colleagues to craft work that not only sells tickets but sparks cultural conversation.鈥
鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to welcome Beth to the team," added Elizabeth Furze, CEO of AKA North America. "She brings a powerful blend of deep experience, strategic insight, and collaborative spirit that will serve our clients and our team brilliantly. As we celebrate Robert鈥檚 outstanding leadership and prepare for this next chapter, we鈥檙e excited for all that lies ahead under Beth鈥檚 guidance."
Watson will succeed Robert Jones, working closely with Jones through a transition period leading up to his June 13 departure. Jones is departing to become chief marketing officer at Lincoln Center Theater.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been an incredible 5 years with AKA,鈥 Jones said in a statement. 鈥淚鈥檓 deeply proud of what we鈥檝e built together: bold campaigns, meaningful collaborations, and lasting partnerships. All of this with the brilliant team I鈥檓 honored to work with, and some truly exceptional clients that we鈥檝e been privileged to champion. I鈥檓 extremely excited for my next adventure at LCT, and I leave AKA thrilled for what鈥檚 ahead for them, and for Beth鈥檚 talent and skill to be at the helm of the theatrical division.鈥
