Broadway News Off-Broadway's A Streetcar Named Desire-Inspired Kowalski Will Transfer to Broadway This Fall

The play unfolds over one night as Tennessee Williams and a young Marlon Brando find their creative rhythm.

Off-Broadway play Kowalski will transfer to Broadway this fall, with dates and a theatre to be announced, according to production representatives. Colin Hanlon will again direct.

Written by Greg Ostrin, the work explores the first meeting between Tennessee Williams and Marlon Brando. The Off-Broadway bow played The Duke on 42nd Street January 12-February 23.

The cast featured Robin Lord Taylor (Gotham) as Tennessee Williams and Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why) as Marlon Brando with Alison Cimmet (Gary) as Margo Jones, Ellie Ricker (Y2K) as Jo, and Sebastian Trevi帽o (On Your Feet!) as Pancho Rodriguez. Casting for a Broadway bow has not been revealed.

The Off-Broadway creative team included costume designer Lisa Zinni, scenic designer David Gallo, lighting designer Jeff Croiter, sound designer Bill Toles, movement specialist Nancy Renee Braun, casting director Stephen DeAngelis, and general manager Aaron Grant Theatrical.

The Off-Broadway run was produced by Helm Capital, Kathleen K. Johnson, Willette & Manny Klausner, Grace Street Creative, Jeffrey Sherman, Nathan Hughes, Karl E. Held, Alexander Robertson, and Faried Assad. Broadway Engine served as the executive producer.
