Written by Bess Wohl, Camp Siegfried is playing Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theater Off-Broadway in its New York debut production, which opened November 15. Read reviews here. The run continues through December 4 with David Cromer at the helm.
Co-starring with Berchtold is Lily McInerny (Palm Trees and Power Lines), also making her Off-Broadway debut in the two-hander.
The work follows two teenagers who find themselves headed towards either young passion or fascist extremism at Long Island's real-life Camp Siegfried on the cusp of World War II. The play received its world premiere at London's Old Vic last year.
