The Broadway revival of Terrence McNally鈥檚 Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune ends July 28 at the Broadhurst Theatre. Directed by Arin Arbus, the two-hander stars six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald and Oscar nominee Michael Shannon.
Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune opened on Broadway May 30 and was originally scheduled to play through August 25. Previews began May 4.
In the intimate play, first seen in 1987, a waitress and a short-order cook spend the course of an evening together. Later staged on Broadway in 2002, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune is a story of loneliness, companionship, and hope.
The creative team for the revival includes Riccardo Hernandez (sets), Emily Rebholz (costumes), Natasha Katz (lighting), Nevin Steinberg (sound), J. Jared Janas (hair, wig, and makeup), Laurie Goldfeder (production stage manager), and 101 Productions, Ltd. (general manager).
Hunter Arnold, Debbie Bisno, and Tom Kirdahy (McNally's husband) produce.
