The Harlem School of the Arts will present Harlem City Music Hall Dance Spectacular June 19 featuring The Harlemettes and The Harlem Rockets. The performance will honor Jennifer Jones, the first ever African-American Rockette.
鈥淚鈥檓 very honored and thrilled about it,鈥� Jones told . 鈥淚t鈥檚 a wonderful accomplishment and I think that I did pave the way.鈥� She was also featured on Broadway in 42nd Street.
The show is written and directed by Aubrey Lynch II; the story follows Little JJ, who dreams of becoming a Rockette. There will be two performances at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, at 1 PM and 5 PM.
