News It's A Time for Singing, Mufti-Style, Beginning Today at Off-Broadway's York Theatre Company The York Theatre Company's production of A Time for Singing, part of the Fall 2014 Musicals in Mufti series, begins performances Oct. 25 at 2:30 PM and 8 PM.

Directed by , performances at the Off-Broadway venue continue through Nov. 2.

A Time for Singing features book and lyrics by and John Morris and music by Morris; the musical is based on the novel 鈥淗ow Green Was My Valley鈥� by Richard Llewellyn.

The 14-member cast comprises Glenn Seven Allen, Wilson Bridges, Dylan Boyd, , , Steve French, , Gus Halper, Joe Kolinski, Sara Killough, , , and .

A Time for Singing, according to press notes, "examines the lives and loves of the citizens of a South Wales mining town. Virtually unheard since its brief Broadway run during a New York newspaper strike in 1966, the show is a tapestry of choral riches and operatic grandeur."

The York Theatre Company's acclaimed Musicals in Mufti series presents musical theatre gems in a simply staged, book-in-hand concert format. Mufti means 鈥渋n street clothes, without the trappings of a full production.鈥� A Time for Singing plays 10 performances only at Saint Peter鈥檚 (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).
