Jennifer Garner, who starred as Jenna Rink in the film 13 Going on 30, has signed on as an executive producer for the film's upcoming musical adaptation. 13 Going on 30 - The Musical is set to premiere at Manchester Opera House beginning September 21.
"After more than 20 years, I still get to talk about Jenna Rink and 13 Going on 30 more days than not鈥攚ho knew our quirky little movie would have such staying power?," Garner said in a statement. "I鈥檓 thrilled to see Jenna, Matty, and Lucy live on in their very own musical鈥攁re you kidding me? I鈥檓 geeking out! Lucie Jones is flirty and thriving as Jenna, the music is a blast, and all of the anguish of growing up is alive and well in this magical production. I鈥檓 so happy to join them as executive producer and very much look forward to the journey."
As previously reported, Lucie Jones will star as Jenna Rink in the musical. West End star Jones's previous credits include Genevieve in The Baker鈥檚 Wife (Menier Chocolate Factory), Catherine in Pippin, Katie in Super You, Fantine in Les Mis茅rables, Elphaba in Wicked, and Jenna Hunterson in Waitress.
