Obituaries Memorial Celebrating Linda Lavin to Be Held at the Ambassador Theatre

The Tony-winning stage and screen star passed away December 29, 2024, at the age of 87.

A memorial for Linda Lavin will be held at Broadway's Ambassador Theater May 5, from 1鈥�3 p.m. The event, which will be open to the public on a first come, first serve basis, will serve as the theatre industry's final send off to a legend. Performances and personal stories will be shared in her honor.

Ms. Lavin, who won the 1986 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her role in the Neil Simon comedy Broadway Bound, passed away December 29, 2024, at the age of 87.

The stage and screen star was also a Golden Globe winner, perhaps best known for her nine seasons as waitress and aspiring singer Alice Hyatt on the CBS series Alice. Ms. Lavin was also Tony-nominated for her work in Last of the Red Hot Lovers, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Collected Stories, and The Lyons.

Ms. Lavin's final screen appearances came on the Hulu series Mid-Century Modern, which is available on the streaming service now.
