Netflix film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is getting the stage musical treatment, with a book from Will Ferrell, Harper Steele, and Anthony King, and music by Savan Kotecha. Tony winner Alex Timbers is at the helm of the in-development project.
Released in 2020, Eurovision Song Contest follows two Icelandic friends with dreams of winning the famed Eurovision Song Contest, an Olympics-like international song contest that pits representatives from various countries against each other. Ferrell co-starred in the Netflix release with Rachel McAdams, also co-writing its screenplay with Steele.

鈥淭his is a stellar team for what I am sure will be an equally stellar adaption of a film the world loved," concludes Eurovision CBE Director Martin Green. "Our aim always is to bring the joy of the Eurovision Song Contest to more people globally鈥攅specially as we approach our 70th edition in 2026."
Kotecha previously wrote the film's Academy Award-nominated original song "Husavik (My Hometown)" with Fat Max Gsus and Rickard G枚ransson.
No timeline or production plans have yet been revealed for the project.
