Regional News Norm Lewis and Michael James Scott Will Lead La Cage aux Folles at the Muny

Marcia Milgrom Dodge will direct the Tony-winning Jerry Herman musical.

Norm Lewis and Michael James Scott

Tony nominee Norm Lewis (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, Ceremonies in Dark Old Men) and Michael James Scott (Aladdin) will lead the Muny production of the Tony-winning La Cage aux Folles this summer.

Lewis will be Georges opposite Scott's Albin in the production, which will play the Tony-winning venue August 8-14. Marcia Milgrom Dodge will direct with choreography by Richard J. Hinds and musical direction by conductor Darryl Archibald.

The cast will also include Cameron Anika Hill as Anne, Terence Archie as M. Edouard Dindon, Allison Blackwell as Mme. Marie Dindon, Troy Iwata as Jacob, Michael Hartung as Francis, and Meghan Murphy as Jacqueline.  Additional company members will be announced.

Based on the play by Jean Poiret, La Cage has a book by Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. The musical opened on Broadway in August 1983, subsequently winning six Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The creative team also includes scenic designer Matthew Buttrey, costume designer Bobby Pearce, lighting designer Adam Honor茅, sound designers John Shivers and David Patridge, video designers Kylee Loera and Greg Emetaz, wig designer Tommy Kurzman, associate choreographers Nathan O. Peck and Josh Zacher, and makeup designer Heather Hardin with casting by The Telsey Office's Rashad Naylor.

The Muny artistic staff includes Artistic Director and Executive Producer Mike Isaacson, Associate Artistic Director Michael Baxter, Director of Production Tracy Utzmyers, and Music Supervisor Michael Horsley.

Season 107 at The Muny includes Bring It On: The Musical (June 16-22), Come From Away (June 26-July 2), Disney鈥檚 Frozen (July 6-14), Evita (July 18-24), Dear Evan Hansen (July 28-August 3), La Cage aux Folles (August 8-14), and Jersey Boys (August 18-24).
