News Off-Broadway Hit Significant Other Announced for Broadway Joshua Harmon's play tells the story of a gay bachelor looking for love.

Significant Other, a comedic drama from acclaimed Bad Jews playwright Joshua Harmon, about a gay bachelor looking for love in the city, will make its Broadway bow in early 2017, according to .

The play will begin previews in February and open in March at a Shubert theatre to be announced.

Significant Other had its world premiere in May 2015 at the Off-Broadway Laura Pels Theatre under the auspices of Roundabout Theatre Company. It will be produced on Broadway by Jeffrey Richards.

The play will again be directed by (Punk Rock, Murder Ballad, Choir Boy). Richards said he also hopes to reassemble the 2015 cast, which included Gideon Glick, Barbara Barrie and Lindsay Mendez.

According to Roundabout production notes, Significant Other is a coming-of-age story about single life in the city. 鈥淛ordan Berman would love to be in love, but that's easier said than done. So until he meets Mr. Right, he wards off lonely nights with his trio of close-knit girlfriends. But as singles' nights turn into bachelorette parties, Jordan finds that supporting the ones you love can be just as impossible as finding love itself.鈥�

Harmon's Bad Jews was the third most-produced work around the country last season. Bad Jews premiered at Roundabout's Underground Black Box theatre in 2012 in a sold-out extended run and transferred the following year to the Laura Pels Theatre. His work has also been produced and developed by , Hangar Theatre, and Ars Nova, among others. He is currently in development with Roundabout for a new, commissioned play.
