Academy Award winner George Clooney, who co-wrote and stars in Broadway's Good Night, and Good Luck, received a caricature portrait at Sardi's April 24. See photos and video from the unveiling in the gallery below.
Richard Kind honored Clooney with a speech at the event. "I'm his friend鈥擨 had to be with him a lot, and hear his thoughts, and I'm the luckiest guy around," Kind said. "I think Broadway is really lucky to have him...and today, he's honored by a tradition that's gone back who knows how many decades. When [Good Night, and Good Luck closes] in June, it will be thought about, and talked about, but you will have this picture forever...It's here to remember the accomplishment that he did. And I'm very proud to know him."
Good Night, and Good Luck marks Clooney's Broadway debut. A work of historical drama, the play centers on a clash between famed journalist Edward R. Murrow and infamous U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy, of anti-communist HUAC fame.

Clooney co-wrote the project's 2005 film version with Grant Heslov, and directed and starred as well, as Murrow's co-producer Fred W. Friendly. Clooney and Heslov have penned the new stage adaptation, with Clooney taking on the role of Edward R. Murrow, played by David Strathairn on screen.
