London's National Theatre has unveiled full casting for its upcoming world premiere of Shaan Sahota's The Estate, set to play the company's Dorfman Theatre July 9-August 23, opening July 17. Daniel Raggett (Accidental Death of an Anarchist) is directing.
As previously announced, BAFTA winner Adeel Akhtar will lead the cast as Angad, an ambitious politician looking to replace a political rival who's been forced to resign in disgrace.
Newly announced to be joining him are Shelley Conn (Bridgerton) as Malicka, Dinita Gohil (The Father and the Assassin) as Sangeeta, Thusitha Jayasundera (The House of Bernarda Alba) as Gyan, Humphrey Ker (Welcome to Wxham) as Ralph Hughes, Fode Simbo (Sameul Takes a Break...) as Isaac, and Helen Wilson (The Hills of California) as Petra. Casting is by Bryony Jarvis-Taylor.
The production will also feature set design by Chloe Lamford, costume design by Khadija Raza, lighting design by Jessica Hung Han Yun, music by Asaf Zohar, sound design by Mike Winship, movement direction by Polly Bennett, and fight direction by Alex Payne. Molly Stacey will serve as staff director.
