London News See Who's Starring in Brigadoon at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre

Casting is now complete for the Regent鈥檚 Park Open Air Theatre production of the classic American musical Brigadoon, which will play the outdoor London venue August 2-September 20 with an official opening August 11.

Drew McOnie will direct and choreograph the Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe musical, which features a new adaptation by acclaimed Scottish playwright Rona Munro.

The cast will be led by Danielle Fiamanya as Fiona MacLaren, Louis Gaunt as Tommy Albright, Jasmine Jules Andrews as Jean MacLaren, Edward Baruwa as Andrew MacLaren, Norman Bowman as Archie Beaton, Chrissy Brooke as Maggie Anderson, Cavan Clarke as Jeff Douglas, David Colvin as Piper, Gilli Jones as Charlie Dalrymple, Anne Lacey as Lundie, Nic Myers as Meg Brockie, and Danny Nattrass as Harry Beaton, plus ensemble members and swings Elizabeth Armstrong, Taylor Bradshaw,Tanisha-Mae Brown, Adam Davidson, Tim Hodges, Shoko Ito, Christian Knight, Robin Mackenzie, Owen McHugh, Jessie Odeleye, Eve Parsons, Bethany Tennick, Dale White, and Liam Wrate.

The musical, about the mysterious town on the Scottish Highlands that appears for just one day each century, follows crash-landed WWII fighter pilots Tommy and Jeff who discover sisters Fiona and Jean, who are preparing for a wedding.

McOnie said in a statement: 鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled to be directing this brilliant cast in my first season as artistic director of Regent鈥檚 Park Open Air Theatre. I can鈥檛 wait to work with this talented group of artists to bring Brigadoon back to the London stage after a 35-year absence, transporting audiences from Regent鈥檚 Park to the Scottish Highlands.鈥�

Brigadoon officially opened on Broadway March 13, 1947, at the Ziegfeld Theatre, where it would continue for 581 performances through July 31, 1948. Directed by Robert Lewis with choreography by Agnes de Mille, the original Broadway cast included David Brooks as Tommy Albright, Marion Bell as Fiona MacLaren, Pamela Britton as Meg Brockie, Lee Sullivan as Charlie Dalrymple, George Keane as Jeff Douglas, and Frances Charles as Jane Ashton. De Mille subsequently won the 1947 Tony Award for Best Choreography, her first.

The creative team for the Regent's Park production also includes musical director Laura Bangay, set designer Basia Bi艅kowska, casting director Will Burton, costume designer Sami Fendall, associate wig, hair, and makeup designer and supervisor Carol Hancock, associate director Alessandra Davison, voice coach Hazel Holder, lighting designer Jessica Hung Han Yun, sound designer Nick Lidster for Autograph, intimacy director Ingrid Mackinnon, associate choreographer Ebony Molina, dialect coach Morag Stark, and music supervisor and orchestrator Sarah Travis.
