David Driver's multimedia jukebox documentary There鈥檚 A Riot Going On!: The Real Music & True Story of Stonewall will play Joe's Pub later this summer.

Previously titled The Stonewall Jukebox, the show is part musical celebration, part little-known oral history. Featuring true-life narration, historical film footage, and images of the time, the show tells the story of why and how the Stonewall uprising came to bring about seismic change in global culture.

Playing Joe's Pub June 4 and 11, the newest iteration of TARGO! features input from Village Voice legend Michael Musto, downtown NYC icon Machine Dazzle, prolific singer-songwriter Nicki Richards, queer burlesque legend Tigger!, drag chanteuse Castrata, and Kinky Boots alum Kevin Smith Kirkwood, with more to be announced.

Built around the late-'60s songs that nestled inside the bar鈥檚 jukebox in June of 1969, the show explores the real lives of those who fought back against bigotry's oppression, creating the potent recipe for queer empowerment that we鈥檝e come to know as Stonewall.

TARGO! features songs originated by Stevie Wonder, Sly & the Family Stone, Judy Garland, The Flirtations, Petula Clark, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Lesley Gore, Harry Nilsson, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey, and The Beatles, among others. Performers have included Michael Musto, Stew, Everett Bradley, Machine Dazzle, David Driver, Maggie Moore, Nicki Richards, Tigger!, and Lenny Zenith.
