Casting has been revealed for The Old Globe's production of Noises Off. Michael Frayn鈥檚 Olivier Award-winning play will run at the San Diego theatre July 6 through August 3, with an official opening night July 11.
Gordon Greenberg (Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors) will direct the uproarious backstage comedy that pulls back the curtain on a theatre company struggling to keep its production from falling apart. Forgotten lines, misplaced props, and romantic entanglements lead to total chaos with doors slamming and sardines flying, in a whirlwind of slapstick hilarity.
The cast will include Matthew Patrick Davis as Tim Allgood (Side Show), Abby Leigh Huffstetler as Poppy Norton-Taylor, Nehal Joshi as Gary Lejeune (The Phantom of the Opera, The Cottage), Bryonha Marie as Belinda Blair (Our Town, Book of Mormon), Jefferson Mays as Frederick Fellowes, Orville Mendoza as Selsdon Mowbray, Linda Mugleston as Dotty Otley (The Music Man), Michelle Veintimilla as Brooke Ashton (The Visit), and James Waterson as Lloyd Dallas. Understudies will include Alyssa Anne Austin, Marley Bauer, Jasmine January, Katie MacNichol, and Micah Munck.
The production will feature scenic design by Todd Rosenthal, costume design by Izumi Inaba, lighting design by Amanda Zieve, sound design by Connor Wang, stunt coordination by Jacob Grigolia-Rosenbaum, voice and dialect coaching by Lauren Lovett, casting by Geoff Josselson, and production stage management by Anjee Nero.
