News Tony-Winning Lighting Designer Will Direct Between Riverside and Crazy in 2016 The inaugural season of Studio Theatre's new affiliated artist program, Studio Cabinet, will include Stephen Adly Guirgis' Between Riverside and Crazy , directed by five-time Tony Award-winning lighting designer Brian MacDevitt. Performances begin Jan. 13, 2016, and run through Feb. 28.

David Muse, artistic director of Studio Theatre, has announced the six members of the Studio Cabinet: MacDevitt, Duncan Macmillan, Natsu Onoda Power, Tom Story, Holly Twyford and Serge Seiden.

In a statement Muse said, "I鈥檝e wanted to formalize a relationship with artists from different disciplines鈥攄irectors, designers, actors, playwrights鈥攚ith whom I鈥檒l be in regular conversation as we develop our seasons. The Cabinet is a collection of artists whose vision and opinions I鈥檝e come to trust over my years in DC. I reached out to people Studio has been a home to over the years and am grateful to their willingness to lend their imaginations and thoughtfulness to our future."

About MacDevitt directing Studio Cabinet's inaugural production, Between Riverside and Crazy, Muse stated, "It鈥檚 a pleasure to welcome Stephen Adly Guirgis鈥檚 work back to Studio. Between Riverside and Crazy won the Pulitzer last year for its uncensored and big-hearted take on gentrification and race. This play, like The Motherf*cker with the Hat, is remarkably funny without letting its characters off the hook. Brian MacDevitt joins Studio again, this time in the director鈥檚 chair for the first time. I can鈥檛 wait to see what happens when he loses his exuberance, craft, and intelligence on Stephen鈥檚 writing."

Performances of Between Riverside and Crazy will be Tuesday-Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2 PM and 8 PM and Sunday at 2 PM and 7 PM.

There will be after-show discussions Jan. 24 and Feb. 6 after the 2 PM performances. The performance on Feb. 16 will be sign-interpreted. Performances on Feb. 13 and Feb. 17 will be captioned. An audio-described performance will be presented Feb. 21.
