Stage and screen star Liza Minnelli recently made her long-awaited debut on RuPaul's Drag Race.
Host RuPaul presented the EGOT winner with the show's Giving Us Lifetime Achievement Award during the finale of the 17th season April 18. Bob Mackie and Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) are previous recipients of the award, given to those who have made a significant impact on drag and fashion.
Minnelli was honored for "her dazzling contributions to entertainment and for sharing her irrepressible joy." In her acceptance speech Minnelli thanked the adoring crowd, saying, "You made me!" Host RuPaul countered, "Well, you made us, actually!" Watch the celebration of the stage and screen star, who was dressed in Halston, in the video above.

The winner of this year's contest was also revealed: Taking home the $200,000 grand prize was Onya Nurve. The runner up was Jewels Sparkles, with Crystal Envy named Miss Congeniality.
Although Minnelli had not previously appeared on the show, several contestants have impersonated the Cabaret star,
including Alexis Michelle, Scarlett Bobo, Hannah Conda, and La Voix.
Among the former RuPaul's Drag Race contestants who have appeared on Broadway are Jinkx Monsoon (Pirates! The Penzance Musical, Chicago); Peppermint (Head Over Heels); Marty Lauter, a.k.a. Marcia Marcia Marcia (Cabaret); and Dwayne Cooper, formerly Milan (Floyd Collins).
Minnelli won Tony Awards for her performances in Flora, The Red Menace and The Act and was also Tony-nominated for her work in The Rink. She also received a Special Tony in 1974 "for adding lustre to the Broadway season." Her other Broadway credits include Liza's at the Palace鈥�, Minnelli on Minnelli, Victor/Victoria, Chicago, and Liza.
