A concert version of Peter Seibert and Patrick Lundquist鈥檚 Swan Lake: The Musical, featuring the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, will be presented December 17 at The Montalb谩n Theater in Hollywood. Here is an exclusive first look with a performance by Carrie St. Louis and Carrie Manolakos.
As previously announced, composer, lyricist, and performer will star in the 8 PM performance alongside St. Louis (, ), Manolakos (Wicked, Mamma Mia!), Luann Aronson (Phantom of the Opera), Mario Jose (American Idol), Blake Segal (), Liam Roberts in his L.A. stage debut, and a backing choir of ensemble members.
Sammi Cannold, who directed the recent concert production of on Ellis Island and is assistant director on Broadway鈥檚 , will direct.
The story, according to press notes, 鈥渇ollows Odette, a princess under a curse who has been kept secret from her own empire. When impending war threatens the empire of Swan Lake, Odette鈥檚 existence is revealed and she must choose between her love, her family, and her empire to bring peace. Based on the legends that inspired Tchaikovsky鈥檚 famous ballet, Swan Lake: The Musical is an epic and sweeping retelling of the classic tale.鈥�
Seibert and Lundquist are a writing team based in Los Angeles. Seibert has written additional music for , Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, and Lifetime鈥檚 Drop Dead Diva. Lundquist鈥檚 work has appeared on the albums of multiple Grammy winners, including Adam Lambert and Al Jarreau.
