JOB TITLE: Lighting & Cue Operator
REPORTS TO: Production Manager & Producer
COMPANY: Showcase Entertainment Group
BOOKING & MANAGEMENT: Broadway & Beyond Theatricals
COMPENSATION RATE: $1,000 - $1,250 /wk.
UNION: Non-Union
LOCATION: National Tour

POSITION SUMMARY:
Showcase Entertainment Group is searching for a Lighting & Cue Operator to join our national tour of The Cat in the Hat. The Lighting & Cue Operator will work collaboratively with the Production Manager, Producer, and touring crew members. This production is currently touring in New Zealand and will be embarking on its first tour of the United States in Spring 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (Including but not limited to the following)

  • Learn show cue operations on QLAB in lead up to rehearsals, operate cue system for all shows (cue heavy show)
  • Assist unloading touring container/truck
  • Setup QLAB laptops and Touring Lighting equipment
  • Assist setup of AV Laptop and TVs + Projection - Test with QLAB
  • Integrate venue lighting rig with touring control system + Update fixture positions/clone as required
  • Make backups of show files and upload to Google Drive when changes have been made.
  • Assist with Repairs & Maintenance of set and all technical equipment in conjunction with the Technician, Stage Manager, and Mechanist.
  • Packout all equipment into the container/truck after the show


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Applicants must have a deep knowledge of QLAB Software, Redundant Playback systems (iConnectivity products), and experience in using Obsidian ONYX Lighting software
  • Relevant professional theatre experience (three or more years preferred).
  • Strong team players who work well under pressure
  • Work collaboratively as a team member and maintain a positive attitude
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull 100 lbs, stand for extended periods of time (3+ hours), and navigate multiple levels of stairs.
  • Valid driver鈥檚 license required.
