Industry News Broadhurst Theatre Will Dim Lights in Memory of Linda Lavin

The Tony-winning stage and screen star passed away December 29, 2024, at the age of 87.

The Shubert Organization has announced that the Broadhurst Theatre, where Linda Lavin starred in Broadway Bound, will dim its lights March 11 at 6:45 PM to recognize her impact on the theatre community.

Ms. Lavin, who won the 1986 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her role in the Neil Simon comedy, passed away December 29, 2024, at the age of 87.

The stage and screen star was also a Golden Globe winner, perhaps best known for her nine seasons as waitress and aspiring singer Alice Hyatt on the CBS series Alice. Ms. Lavin was also Tony-nominated for her work in Last of the Red Hot Lovers, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Collected Stories, and The Lyons.
