Broadway News Broadway's Appropriate Cancels Performances February 13 and 14

COVID-related illness has led Second Stage Theater to cancel three performances.

Second Stage Theater announced on Instagram that the February 13 and both February 14 performances of Appropriate on Broadway have been cancelled, due to "COVID-related illness among the principal cast, understudies, and crew." Ticket holders have been directed to contact their point of purchase for next steps. 

The work by opened December 18 at the Hayes Theater after beginning performances November 29. The production marks Jacobs-' Broadway playwriting debut, following a credit in 2022 for contributing additional material to Lincoln Center Theater's revival of 's The Skin of Our Teeth. is directing. The production stars Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Award winner Paulson as Toni, (House of Cards, Billions) as Bo, (Succession) as Rachael, (The Great) as River, and () as Cassidy, alongside as Rhys and (The Last Ship) as Franz. and share the role of Ainsley. Rounding out the company as understudies are , , , Tina Benko, and .

The work centers on a white family who, while closing out the estate of their late father, discover some disturbing artifacts that force them to confront their family's past. The play was previously produced in 2014 Off-Broadway at Signature Theatre.
