The world premiere of Mad Hatter The Musical plays Phoenix鈥檚 Herberger Theater Center May 1鈥�19.
Dwayne Washington stars in the title role, joined by Lauren Zakrin (Once Upon a One More Time) as the Queen of Hearts and Reanne Acasio (Here Lies Love, Hamilton) as the hatter鈥檚 dual love interests Mary Beth and the Cheshire Cat Yola with Tony Castellanos (Jesus Christ Superstar), Aria Kane (Frozen tour), Mark Reis (Fosse), Luis Villabon, Andreas Wyder (Interstate), Ash Marie Alina, Raven Chareal, Alyssa Chiarello, Lydia Ruth Dawson, Rendell A. Debose, Trisha Ditsworth, H茅ctor Flores Jr., Liam Garrett, Amanda Lund, Anna Mettes, Chafik Jay, and Mathew Zimmerer. Casting is by ARC.
The new musical鈥攆eaturing a book, music, and lyrics by Vincent Connor, Michael J. Polo, and Victor Valdez鈥攊s set long before Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and explores the mysterious past of the notorious Mad Hatter.
New York Theatre Barn Artistic Director Joe Barros directs and
choreographs the production, which also features music direction by
Nick Wilders, orchestrations by Polo, Wilders, and Ryan Franks, set design by Riw
Rakkulchon, costume design by Kristin Bjorge and Harry Nadal, lighting design by Dawn
Chiang, sound design by Kevin Heard, and props design by Samantha
Eubanks.
