Day's new album, Broadway By Day, features theatre songs reimagined in a pop/jazz context.

Singer-songwriter Spencer Day has released a track from his upcoming album Broadway By Day: Listen to his cover of "I'd Be Surprising Good for You" from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical Evita above.

Day's album will be released February 25 on streaming platforms and in stores. It is comprised of theatre songs reimagined in a pop/jazz context with elements from other genres, including swing and Latin. Other highlights include Rodgers & Hammerstein鈥檚 鈥淏ali Ha鈥檌鈥 from South Pacific, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin鈥檚 鈥淢aybe鈥 from Annie, and "What I Did for Love" from Marvin Hamlisch and Edward Kleban's A Chorus Line.

"'I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You' [is] a real standout of [the Evita] score, yet never explored outside of the show and really does stand on its own. The work of the incredible Mexican guitarist Eduardo Leon is especially valuable on this track," commented Day. "Since I was in Latin America anyway, I figured I might as well go to the source. He contributed to the album鈥檚 diversity of sound and style."

Musical guests on the album include Grammy nominees Jane Monheit and Dave Koz. It is produced by Day and Alex Frank, and will be released by by Club44 Records.
