EGOT winner Liza Minnelli鈥榮 earlier announced memoir, to be published by Grand Central Publishing in spring 2026, may be hitting the small screen.

that Warner Bros. TV and Magnolia Hill have joined forces to option the project. Minnelli's former agent, Sam Haskell, also the founder of Magnolia Hill, will lead the development of the TV series.

As previously reported, the forthcoming memoir is the work of Minnelli; Heidi Evans, a Pulitzer Prize and two-time George Polk Award winner; Josh Getlin, a Pulitzer Prize-winning Los Angeles Times correspondent and New York Bureau Chief; and Minnelli's longtime friend, Grammy-nominated recording artist Michael Feinstein.

The memoir and series will be a candid review of Minnelli's life, both professionally and personally, from her childhood in the spotlight as the daughter of Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli to her breakout successes in Cabaret and Liza With a Z, and through her marriages and struggles with substance abuse disorder.

Television on bringing my story to life in this special way,鈥� Minnelli said in a statement to Variety. 鈥淪am has been a dear friend and an invaluable part of my professional life, and I couldn鈥檛 think of a more fitting collaborator for this incredibly personal project. I can鈥檛 wait to share my story with the world. I would not trust this story with anyone besides Sam. My belief was always, 鈥楾ell it when I鈥檓 gone!鈥� [Substance abuse disorder] isn鈥檛 about willpower or strength. It is about the wiring of our brains, it is about how genetics impact our lives and the lives of those we love鈥� and it is now time to remove shame and stigma. I鈥檓 grateful to experience longevity by working on recovery every day of my life.鈥�

The audio edition of the memoir will include bonus content with never-released autobiographical recordings and musings that Minnelli and Feinstein have been working on for 15 years.

Minnelli won Tony Awards for her performances in Flora, The Red Menace and The Act and was also Tony-nominated for her work in The Rink. She also received a Special Tony in 1974 "for adding lustre to the Broadway season." Her other Broadway credits include Liza's at the Palace鈥�, Minnelli on Minnelli, Victor/Victoria, Chicago, and Liza.

In addition to the memoir and the possible TV series, Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story, a new film that spotlights Minnelli's life in the 1970s, will open in New York January 24, 2025, and in Los Angeles January 31.
