The new Broadway musical The Great Gatsby recently welcomed Ryan McCartan (Frozen, Wicked) and Sarah Hyland (Little Shop of Horrors, Modern Family) as, respectively, Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan to the Broadway Theatre.
The duo succeeded original stars Jeremy Jordan and Eva Noblezada.
The cast also currently features Charlie Pollock as George Wilson, Terrence Mann as Wolfsheim, Sara Chase as Myrtle Wilson, John Zdrojeski as Tom Buchanan, and Noah J. Ricketts as Nick Carraway. (Samantha Pauly is currently on medical leave from the production; while the former Six star is on leave, the role of Jordan Baker is covered by understudies Traci Elaine Lee, Dariana Mullen, and Elena Ricardo.)

The ensemble includes Raymond Edward Baynard, Curtis Holland, Traci Elaine Lee, Dariana Mullen, Tess Soltau, Pascal Pastrana, Kayla Pecchioni, Mariah Reives, Dan Rosales, Dave Schoonover, Matt Wiercinski, Jessica Mallare White, and Alexis Hasbrouck. Kurt Csolak, Carissa Gaughran, Morgan Harrison, Brandon J. Large, Samantha Pollino, Alex Prakken, Elena Ricardo, Justin Keats, and Jasmine Pearl Villaroel round out the company as swings.

Based on the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, The Great Gatsby features music and lyrics by Nathan Tysen (Paradise Square) and Jason Howland (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) and a book by Jonathan Larson Grant winner Kait Kerrigan (The Mad Ones). Marc Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) directs with choreography by Dominique Kelley (Mariah鈥檚 Magical Christmas Special).
Set in the Roaring '20s, the musical follows eccentric millionaire Jay Gatsby, who will stop at nothing in his tragic pursuit of Daisy Buchanan, a wealthy young woman whom he loved in his youth.
The Great Gatsby also has scenic and projection design
by Paul Tate de Poo III, costume design by Linda Cho, sound design by
Brian Ronan, lighting design by Cory Pattak, and hair and wig design by
Charles G. LaPointe and Rachael Geier.
Arrangements are by Jason Howland, orchestrations are by Howland and Kim Scharnberg, the music director is Daniel Edmonds, and the music producer is Grammy winner Billy Jay Stein for Strike Audio.
Casting is by C12 Casting, and the production stage manager is Brian Bogin. Mark Shacket of Foresight Theatrical serves as executive producer.
The new musical won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical.
