Regent's Park Open Air Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming production of The Enormous Crocodile. Performances will run May 17-June 8 at the London venue.
The cast includes Joanna Adaran as Trunky, Audrey Brisson (Into the Woods, 础尘别虂濒颈别) as Roly Poly Bird, Malinda Parris (The Little Big Things; & Juliet) as The Enormous Crocodile, Nuwan Hugh Perera (The Lord of the Rings: A Musical Tale, Life of Pi) as Humpy, and Elise Zavou (Heathers, Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World) as Muggle and Teacher. Laura Buhagiar (Seize the Cheese A New Musical) rounds out the company as a swing. Casting is by Bryony Jarvis Taylor CDG.
Based on Roald Dahl's children's book of the same name, The Enormous Crocodile features a book and lyrics by Suhayla El-Bushra, with music by Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab, and additional music and lyrics by Tom Brady. Emily Lim will direct, with co-director Toby Oli茅.
The musical follows an enormous crocodile weaving his way through the jungle. Only the other jungle creatures can foil his secret plans and clever tricks, but they鈥檙e going to have to find a
large amount of courage to stop this greedy brute.
The creative team includes puppetry designer Oli茅, music technology and ambleton programmer Phij Adams, set and costume designer Fly Davis, voice coach Aundrea Fudge, sound designer Tom Gibbons, lighting designer Jessica Hung Han Yun, choreographer Vicki Igbokwe-Ozoagu, and music director Ma虁th Roberts. The production features orchestrations and arrangements by Brady, who also serves as music supervisor. Puppetry design is by Oli茅.
The Enormous Crocodile musical was developed by Lim, Gallab, El-Bushra, Brady and The Roald Dahl Story Company.
