London's Old Vic Theatre is bringing back its production of A Christmas Carol in 2025 for its ninth consecutive year, with performances to begin November 12 and continue through January 10, 2026. First presented in 2017, the theatre's version of the Dickens classic is adapted by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and directed by outgoing Artistic Director Matthew Warchus.
The theatre says its Christmas Carol is London's longest-running annual production of the holiday favorite tale. Last year's presentation of the work broke records, with 52 percent of its audiences visiting The Old Vic for the first time. The production made a Broadway bow in 2019, winning five 2020 Tony Awards and touring North America in 2021; it streamed internationally via the company's In Camera series in 2020, a recording that was brought back to 351 care homes across the U.K. for free last year.
Casting for the upcoming run is to be announced.
The holiday presentation features Tony-winning sets and costumes by Rob Howell, Tony-winning music and arrangements by Christopher Nightingale, Tony-winning lighting by Hugh Vanstone, Tony-winning sound by Simon Baker, and movement by Lizzi Gee.
Tickets will go on sale March 6 at 10 AM GMT.
