The musical, which debuted on Broadway in 1975 with (as Jamie) and (as Rosamund), is described by Roundabout as "a raucous, hilarious, sexy theatrical gem with an irresistibly catchy bluegrass score." Stand-out songs from the score include "Sleepy Man" and "Nothin' Up."
The work is based on the 1942 novella.
