Marisha Wallace, who currently plays Sally Bowles in London's Olivier-winning Cabaret revival at the Kit Kat Club, recently appeared on The National Lottery's Big Night of Musicals.
Wallace, an Olivier nominee for her work as Miss Adelaide in the immersive London revival of Guys and Dolls, belted out "Maybe This Time" from John Kander and Fred Ebb's Cabaret score. Watch her performance in the video above.
Wallace's other theatre work includes her Olivier-nominated turn as Ado Annie in Oklahoma!, Becky in Waitress, Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray, Effie in Dreamgirls, and roles in Broadway's Aladdin and Something Rotten. Her TV work includes Feel Good, Jingle Jangle, Almost Never, and Aladdin.
Wallace is joined in the London Cabaret revival by Emmy, Tony, and Grammy winner Billy Porter as The Emcee, Daniel Bowerbank as Clifford Bradshaw, Vivien Parry as Fraulein Schneider, Fenton Gray as Herr Schultz, Fred Haig as Ernst Ludwig, and Jessica Kirton as Fraulein Kost/Fritzie.
The ensemble includes Xenoa Campbell-Ledgister, Sam Darius, Damon Gould Adrian Grove, El Haq Latief, Justin-Lee Jones, Ela Lisondra, H铆caro Nicolai, Andy Rees Alexandra Regan, Marina Tavolieri, Ben Simon Wilson, Anne-Marie Wojna, Patrick Wilden, and Lucy Young. Anne-Marie Wojna plays the role of Sally Bowles once a week.
The Prologue Company includes James Hastings, Dak Mashava, Nethra Menon, Oluwatosin Omotosho, Kristin Wei Wong, Rachel Benson, Ami Benton, Joseph Hardy, Andrew Linnie, Jack William Parry, and Jazmyn Raikes.
This production of Cabaret opened in December 2021,
subsequently winning a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards. The revival
transferred to Broadway's August Wilson Theatre, where it continues. The
London staging recently played its 1,000th performance and is currently
booking through October 4, 2025.
Based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood, Cabaret has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Joe Masteroff.
The musical is directed by Rebecca Frecknall with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Julia Cheng, musical supervision by Jennifer Whyte, musical direction by Ben Ferguson, lighting design by Isabella Byrd, and sound design by Nick Lidster. The casting director is Stuart Burt.
