SEEKING:
TEVYE: (Male, 40-60) A warmhearted but stubborn Jewish milkman, Tevye is deeply devoted to his faith and traditions but struggles to reconcile them with the changing world. He is both comedic and profound, often engaging in witty, philosophical conversations with God. A natural storyteller, he commands the stage with charisma, humor, and emotional depth. A strong baritone with excellent vocal endurance, impeccable comedic timing, and the ability to shift from boisterous humor to heartfelt vulnerability.
GOLDE: (Female, 40-50) Tevye鈥檚 strong-willed wife, Golde is the pragmatic matriarch of the household. She is dedicated to her family and upholds tradition but also demonstrates warmth and love in her own practical way. She is firm but caring, often the one to keep Tevye grounded in reality. Golde has strong comedic timing, and a powerful mezzo-soprano voice.
TZEITEL: (Female, 18-25) The eldest daughter of Tevye and Golde, Tzeitel is strong-willed and deeply in love with Motel the tailor. She challenges tradition by choosing to marry for love rather than accepting an arranged marriage. She is mature, practical, and loving. Possesses good vocal ability (mezzo-soprano).
HODEL: (Female, 16-23) The second daughter, Hodel is intelligent, independent, and willing to sacrifice everything for love. She falls in love with Perchik, a radical thinker, and ultimately leaves her home to follow him. Possesses emotional depth and a beautiful soprano voice.
CHAVA: (Female, 18-22) The third daughter, Chava is introspective, bookish, and gentle. She shares a love of literature with Fyedka, a Russian soldier, and ultimately defies her family and faith by choosing to marry outside the Jewish community. (mezzo-soprano).
MOTEL: (Male, 20-30) A poor but hardworking tailor, Motel is deeply in love with Tzeitel and is initially too timid to stand up for himself, but he soon finds his inner strength. A charming, endearing presence with a strong tenor voice.
PERCHIK: (Male, 20-30) A radical young student, Perchik is an outsider in Anatevka. He challenges traditional views and introduces new ideas, particularly to Hodel, with whom he falls in love. Possesses confidence, a commanding presence, and a solid tenor voice.
FYEDKE: (Male, 20-30) A kind and open-minded Russian soldier, Fyedka stands apart from the other Russians in town. He is in love with Chava and respects her intelligence, but his relationship with her ultimately leads to her being disowned by her father. A strong presence with good baritone vocals.
YENTE: (Female, 40-60) The town鈥檚 matchmaker, Yente is a comic character who meddles in everyone鈥檚 business. She is talkative, nosy, and often exaggerated in her mannerisms. (mezzo-soprano/alto).
LAZAR WOLF: (Male, 40-60) A wealthy butcher and the town鈥檚 most eligible bachelor, Lazar Wolf seeks to marry Tzeitel. He is a blustery but ultimately kind-hearted man. Baritone/bass vocals.
THE FIDDLER: (Any Age) A symbolic figure representing tradition and the balance of life, the Fiddler appears throughout the show playing the violin. A silent role, an excellent violinist possessing strong physicality to ability to create a mystical presence.

JOHNNY 鈥淗ONEYCOMB鈥� JAMES: (Black, Man, 24) Guitar player, local celebrity, awkward-turned-ladies-man. Has been in love with Avery since he was 12 years old.

JOHN: (Male, 35) Sonia鈥檚 brother. A cashier at Trader Joe鈥檚. Explodes his feelings over everyone like a paintball gun.
PROFESSOR: (Male, 50s) The Chair of the Department of English at Whitford College. Wears his status like a silk dressing gown.
ELENA: (Female, Mid-30s) The Professor鈥檚 second wife. Chaotic, dazzling, and dark, like a summer thunderstorm.
ERIN: (Female, Late 30s) A climate journalist visiting the Professor from New York. Warm, but irresistibly always at a distance.
