The 7 PM reading will be presented in Manhattan at the Blue Heron Arts Center as part of the 6th Annual TRU Musicals Reading Series. Ben Rimalower, who helmed the Off-Broadway comedy Joy, directs a cast that includes , , Marisa Echeverria, , , , and . Jasper Grant will be the evening's musical director. Sunfish features music by Hyeyoung Kim, lyrics by and a book by both Kim and Cooper.
In a statement director Rimalower said, "Sunfish [is] a contemporary spin on the traditional Sim-Chung Korean folk tale of family sacrifice and love. I fell in love with its ravishing score and fantastical storytelling style the moment I read it."
The Blue Heron Arts Center is located in Manhattan at 123 East 24th Street. Although the reading is free, reservations are required by calling (212) 714- 7628.
