Broadway alum and comedian John Mulaney hosted Saturday Night Live April 14 episode and added a dash of musical theatre when the 鈥淒iner Lobster鈥 sketch parodied Les Mis茅rables in a medley of three songs from the iconic musical.
SNL cast member Pete Davidson surprises the staff at Big Nicky鈥檚 diner by ordering the lobster special. Suddenly, Keenan Thompson rolls out (in a tank) as the doomed lobster dressed as Jean Valjean contemplating his fate in 鈥淲ho Am I?鈥. Kate McKinnon enters as 鈥淐lawsette,鈥 singing a version of 鈥淐astle on a Cloud鈥 as she offers to go in her father鈥檚 place. The sketch finishes off with a climactic take on 鈥淒o You Hear the People Sing?鈥
Mulaney made his Broadway debut in 2016, starring in his Oh, Hello on Broadway alongside Nick Kroll. The comedian was previously a writer for Saturday Night Live.
