Well, that's a wrap on the 78th Annual Tony Awards, an exciting evening that ended with Maybe Happy Ending coming out on top with the evening's much coveted Best Musical Tony Award.
The big win capped off a successful night for the musical, which took six total categories, including both Book and Score for Hue Park and Will Aronson, Director of a Musical for Michael Arden, and Leading Actor in a Musical for Darren Criss. The musical went into the evening as one of three shows tied to be the most nominated productions of the season鈥攁long with Buena Vista Social Club and Death Becomes Her, each with 10 total nominations. 2025 Tony winner Criss and Helen J Shen are leading the musical at the Belasco Theatre, where it opened November 12, 2024. The show is written by Hue Park and Will Aronson, and comes to Broadway after premiering in Korean in South Korea in 2016. The English-language version of the work, written in tandem with the Korean edition, premiered at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre before coming to Broadway. 2025 Tony nominee Michael Arden is at the helm.

Ghostlight Records released the musical's original Broadway cast album digitally earlier this year, and a vinyl edition will drop June 13. Stream the album .
The Broadway cast features Shen and Criss starring as, respectively, Claire and Oliver, South Korea-based Helperbots that have been deemed obsolete. The pair form an unlikely bond, setting off a surprising and romantic adventure. The music is by Aronson with lyrics and a book by Park and Aronson. The cast also includes Marcus Choi and Dez Duron, with the company rounded out by understudies Steven Huynh, Hannah Kevitt, Daniel May, Claire Kwon, and Christopher James Tamayo. Casting is by Telsey & Co's Craig Burns.
Arden's creative team includes scenic and additional video designer Dane Laffrey, costume designer Clint Ramos, lighting designer Ben Stanton, sound designer Peter Hylenski, video designer George Reeve, music supervisor Deborah Abramson, and music director John Yun.
