A pair of sold-out reunion concerts of Broadway's Avett Brothers musical, Swept Away, was held April 28 at Bowery Ballroom, and °ëµºÌåÓý has pictures inside the exciting event. Take a look in the gallery below.
The concerts featured the full original Broadway cast, led by Tony winner John Gallagher Jr. (Spring Awakening), Stark Sands (Kinky Boots), Adrian Blake Enscoe (Dickinson), and Wayne Duvall (1984).
Featuring songs by folk-rock group The Avett Brothers and inspired by their 2004 album Mignonette, Swept Away opened its Broadway debut at the Longacre Theatre November 19, 2024, after beginning previews October 29, and finished its run December 29. The musical, which features a book by John Logan and choreography by David Newmann, was directed by Michael Mayer. A cast album was released via Joy Machine Records February 7, and a double vinyl release is due to follow April 25. Listen .
Gallagher Jr. starred as Mate with Sands as Big Brother, Enscoe as Little Brother, and Duvall as Captain, all reprising their performances from the musical's earlier mountings at Berkeley Repertory and Arena Stage.
The ensemble included Josh Breckenridge, Hunter Brown, Matt DeAngelis, Cameron Johnson, Brandon Kalm, Rico LeBron, Michael J. Mainwaring, Orville Mendoza, Chase Peacock, Tyrone L. Robinson, David Rowen, and John Sygar. Swings John Michael Finley and Robert Pendilla rounded out the company.

Swept Away follows four survivors of an 1888 shipwreck off the coast of New Bedford, Massachusetts. As they struggle to stay alive, they must question whether or not they can live with the consequences of their actions, and discover how tragedy can lead to forgiveness.
The creative team also included music supervisor and orchestrator Brian Usifer, arranger and orchestrator Chris Miller, music director Will Van Dyke, set designer Rachel Hauck, costume designer Susan Hilferty, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer John Shivers, and casting directors Jim Carnahan, Jillian Cimini, and Alexandre Bleau.
Swept Away was produced by Matthew Masten, Sean Hudock, and Madison Wells Live and executive-produced by Wagner Johnson Productions.
