2025 Tony Award nominee Jak Malone dropped by The Kelly Clarkson Show May 14 to perform his song "Dear Bill," one of the stand-out songs from Broadway's Operation Mincemeat. The show, currently up for Best Musical at the 2025 Tony Awards, is continuing its run at the Golden Theatre.
The production is a transfer from London's West End, where it won the 2024 Olivier for Outstanding New Musical. Malone, who reprises his performance on the Main Stem alongside the complete original London cast, is also a 2024 Olivier winner for his performance. The show is currently up for four 2025 Tony Awards, also including Best Score and Best Book.
Along with Malone, that cast includes David Cumming, Natasha Hodgson, Zo毛 Roberts, and Claire-Marie Hall. The show is written by U.K. comedy group SpitLip, which comprises cast members Cumming, Hodgson, and Roberts; and Felix Hagan.
The multi-extended Main Stem bow is currently selling tickets through February 16, 2026.
The show tells a wacky, stranger-than-fiction story that is somehow a completely true tale, following a World War II scheme in which British Intelligence officials dressed up a corpse as an officer in the Royal Marines in order to fool the German government into believing an Allied attack on Sicily was imminent, covering up their true plans to invade Greece and Sardinia in the process. Spoiler alert鈥攊t actually worked.
The show is directed by Robert Hastie, leading a creative team that also includes choreographer Jenny Arnold, music director and supervisor Joe Bunker, orchestrator Steve Sidwell, set and costume designer Ben Stones, lighting designer Mark Henderson, and sound designer Mike Walker. Avalon is producing in association with SpitLip.
